This assignment required a few different steps for preparations. The first was creating a frame and stretching our canvas. The second step was researching different painting masterpieces ideally from the renaissance. I selected Giovanni Antonio Boltraffio's Virgin and Child ("Madonna of the Rose"). The third step before painting was to create an intentional cropping of the masterpiece. I chose to focus primarily on the dress and drapery in the piece. I wanted to tackle drapery again so that I could really attempt to master it.
